Case Manager, Opioid Treatment

The OTP Case Manager will work in conjunction with the Program Director and individual clinicians to provide assistance with case management services specific to the Methadone Clinic.
1.Have a basic understanding of methadone treatment through becoming familiar with the State and Federal regulations and licensure requirements for outpatient methadone set forth by BSAS and SAMHSA/CSAT.
3.Work with the new client and the clinician as a liaison to set up the initial counseling appointment.
4.Meet with client to obtain and document all relevant intake paperwork before the initial appointment, including but not limited to, tobacco assessment, HIV assessment, Release of Information to PCP, psychiatrist and family members, etc.
5.Meet with clients to complete additional paperwork, including but not limited to, courtesy dosing, guest dosing, Take Home applications
6.Provides assistance to accessing a higher level of care, such as detox, CSS or half-way house services by making appropriate and timely collateral contacts.
7.Assists clinicians with collateral communication with other providers to ensure the best continuum of care.
8.Meet with clients for quarterly updating of records.
9.Work in conjunction with the Clinical Team to identify clients who are not in compliance with clinic requirements and document through contracts, as well as deliver contracts to clients.
10.Be available 3 mornings a week during dosing hours to assist Leadership Team with delivery of contracts and meeting with clients.
11.Attends staff meetings and Clinical Supervision weekly.
12.When possible and /or requested, provide referrals for affected family members to self-help programs.
13.Attend bi-weekly supervision with immediate supervisor.
14. Actively track all clients receiving take home doses to ensure that compliance to regulations are being met.
15. Others duties as assigned.
Listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills. Writes clearly and informatively. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from consumers, regulatory agencies, or other service providers. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
High School diploma; one to three years related experience and/or training in the area of chemical dependency. Knowledge of relevant community resources for continuing care/aftercare placement.
Basic Excel, intermediate Word, and knowledge of electronic medical records.
Must be able to complete on-site CPR training/certification.
Must demonstrate ability to relate to a substance abuse treatment population in a sensitive manner, an interest and willingness to work in a multicultural setting and must share a customer service orientation. Manages difficult or emotional client situations; Responds promptly to client needs. Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality.
Scheduled Hours
Part time, 30 hours, benefited position, early mornings, flexible, Mon thru Fri. 5 hours a day
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
